Ross Ulbricht, a nonviolent first-time offender, doesn't deserve to DIE in prison. 8 yrs is enough! Sign @RealRossU's petition 🙏 (I'm a loved one. Not Lyn.)

Even if there had been a 10-year plea deal, what would that have proved? That the system is incredibly coercive and there is a huge penalty just for going to trial? That the government really thought 10 years would be sufficient punishment for the crime?
Will the lies ever stop? Now they're saying I rejected a 10-year plea deal from my prosecutors. Where do they come up with this stuff?!

2/ Ross faced 10 YEARS TO LIFE if he pled guilty and 20 YEARS TO LIFE if he chose to go to trial. In both cases, prosecutors told Ross they’d recommend LIFE to his judge. Not knowing the risks of going to trial & after being advised by his attorneys, Ross chose to go to trial.

1/ Ross Ulbricht was *NEVER* offered a 10-year plea deal. This is a LIE that has recently been shared online. A “10-year-plea deal” cannot be supported by any document. It never happened. More info: freeross.org/misinformation/…

This month marks about ten years since Ross Ulbricht launched Silk Road. Sentenced to life in prison, he felt genuine hope of being pardoned by Trump. That didn't happen. A decade later, his family still works pretty tirelessly on his behalf which is kind of incredible to see.
The initial sadness and disappointment of not being granted clemency are fading. Life goes on. I’m doing my best to look at each moment as a gift, a unique experience to be embraced.

Every minute Ross Ulbricht is locked up is an injustice not corrected. 2 life sentences for a website

Believe it or not, a free society could still have prisons, though it doesn’t have to. I wrote about it in “Incentive-Based Criminal Justice Reform.” In practice, it would look very different from the over-incarcerated society we have. rossulbricht.medium.com/ince…

You're a strong dude. What is your thought on the concept of prisons in general. Would this arrangement exist in a free society, or is a prisonless society the only moral one?

I love this sentiment, and I believe it is true for the person choosing this kind of life to live. But for others, does it matter whether their benefactor’s intentions are selfish or altruistic? Which is more important: intentions or actions?
Replying to @RealRossU
Even just one year on the inside dedicated to helping others is worth more than 50 years of living a selfish life on the outside. Your hardship, experience and determination can set you on course for great things.

I put Silk Road on the Tor network about 10 years ago. I’ve been thinking about what was going through the mind of my 26-year-old self back then in 2011. So much has changed… If only I could turn back time.

Silk Road was a libertarian free market. CONSENTING individuals exchanged both legal & illegal goods (some listings were banned & weed was the most common). Ross doesn’t deserve to die in prison. 8 or 10 yrs would be more than ENOUGH! #FREEROSS

I was up extra early again today and was able to have a nice long meditation in near total silence. This is quickly becoming a priceless part of my routine. When do you usually get up?
