The pioneer is…Laszlo Hanyecz, a 31-year-old IT professional from Jacksonville, Florida 👨💻 🇺🇸
He was one of the first Bitcoin miners, but he will go down in history for making the first documented purchase of a good with Bitcoin, 12 years ago.

On May 18, 2010, Laszlo wrote a message in the famous forum Bitcointalk looking for someone to make or order a couple of pizzas 🍕 in exchange for Bitcoin.

Only 4️days later, on May 22, 2010, the transaction was complete!
Jeremy Sturdivant aka 'jercos', the "hidden hero" of this milestone, bought the pizzas with his credit card, but the bitcoin transaction with Laszlo was conducted via the legendary IRC chat 💬

2 Papa John's pizzas were delivered to Laszlo's house something not only he was looking forward to, but also, for his one-year-old daughter.
