Silk Road vendor Oxyflight was just arrested. He had terrible OPSEC recently yet evaded capture using Tor, cryptocurrency, and PGP encryption for over nine years beforehand. Activists, journalists, researchers committing no crimes: privacy tech can work, but #OPSEC is on you.
• Did not use #Whirlpool • Used @paxful, a @chainalysis partner • Used @gmail account, realnameYoB@gmail • Accessed Paxful w/out Tor, VPN, anything • Paxful handed over IP's. He one hopped to a #bitcoin surveillance partner exchange ffs. Of course he got caught 😂

It's a Bitcoin privacy tool, it allows you to obfuscate the past history of a UTXO. So for example if your coins are linked to a DNM, you could easily remove that link by CoinJoin your Bitcoin with a strong implementation like Whirlpool.

He definitely could’ve retired off what he made off Silk Road alone you’d think but I guess it depends how his spending was

You have to be on point at all times, every time. They only have to be lucky once. Privacy is a fight. Don't take a knife to a gun fight. Use the tools!! ✊
