Wall Street can’t compete without leverage and debt.
They know that they generate pathetic returns and can’t compete in the cryptocurrency space, and hence have no choice but to capture AUM in order to rehypothecate and sell data analytic tools.
If your collateral is an asset it can be liquidated.
Telling people to never spend Bitcoin and borrow against it either have an unnecessarily high risk tolerance, are reckless, or simply don’t need any more money.
