7/ imo - not all regulation is bad. But regulation needs to be minimalist, enforceable, and enforced. Creating massive amounts of red tape that is subjectively and infrequently enforced just produces corruption and rigs the game in favor of bad actors.

I use 6x leverage when I trade. Why? Because it increases my profits by 500%. Example: If you buy 1 Bitcoin for $10k and sell it at $50k, you make a profit of $40k. However, if you use 6x leverage, your profit increases to $240k. That's the power of leverage!

There is an idea of liquidity, some kind of abstraction, but there is no real depth, only an entity, something illusory. Though flow toxicity is hidden, and you can get a quote & feel an HFT algo tightening spreads, maybe you can even sense an order book... it's simply not there.

This is not correct and does our industry a disservice. Trades should be supported by contracts (and collateral!).
Remember when Bitfinex sent $1bn to CryptoCapital without a contract?

The person negotiating also seems to have been unaware that making a deal on terms and starting to execute it, *is* legally binding and that billions of dollars of OTC flow happen this way every day.

Fire destroys #OVH datacenter in Strasbourg. A well-known crypto exchange had recently migrated away from it - quite a close call 😮 Not sure if anyone else was hosted there in our industry (also OVH was just about to go public- SFYL)
