I keep needing to look up these numbers, so I made a handy table of single-sig and 2-of-3 multisig input and output sizes for different address formats (repost for correction):

#Bitcoin bringt ja Vieles zum Kochen. Gem眉ter zum Beispiel. Oder Diskussionen. Das Klima, wie u.a. von @ARDKontraste so tendenzi枚s behauptet, jedoch nicht. Das und mehr besprechen die drei Chefpodcaster im neuen Honigdachs. Wassergek眉hlt, versteht sich! coinspondent.de/2021/05/12/h鈥

.@f2pool_official didn't signal for two of their recent blocks. 1THash went from 50/50 to 1 in 10. No signaling blocks from @BinancePool, @viabtc_pool, @btccom_official, @Huobi_pool, or @btctop_official so far. Doesn't look like Taproot will lock-in in the next difficulty period.

OTOH, only somewhere between 5.1鈥6.8% (0.21.1 + some 21.99.0) of the listening nodes seem to be ready to enforce Taproot activation at this point (via crawly.org.es). From that point, it's reasonable not to signal readiness yet, since the network doesn't appear ready.

160 blocks until difficulty adjustment鈥攁bout 23h (4 blocks found since I started writing 馃槄). Only 13 blocks of 1-2 sat/vB txs left, it may clear in the next day. It'll slow by about 22 blocks per day; switching the mempool back to net growth at current tx volume. #mempoolreport

I recently discovered this 鈥淟earn Me A #Bitcoin鈥 site and the transaction deconstructor function is extremely cool. Wish I'd known about it years ago, it would have saved me a ton of time learning about how tx data is organized. Awesome stuff, @in3rsha! learnmeabitcoin.com/explorer鈥

Right: * HRP "bc" * separator "1" * Witness version "p" (=1) * 52 characters encoding the 256 bits of X coordinate of tweaked pubkey * 6 characters checksum

The mempool depth is down to 26 blocks. Currently, 2 sat/vB would get you into the next block. In 319 blocks the difficulty goes up by about 21.8%: 8鈥25 blocks go back to 10鈥 blocks. Time to consolidate and open channels. It'd be sad to see the mempool run dry. #mempoolreport

According to the stats found on luke.dashjr.org/programs/bit鈥 about 39.8% of the 70k Bitcoin nodes recorded run a version that is past Maintenance End, and 32.4% are even End of Life.

Kinda surprised that that 0.16.0 is still the second most prevalent client, given that it was deprecated for security reasons. Also good that the client releases now give us some numbers to gauge "community consensus" on activation method鈥

Better late than never: as you may have noticed txs with 2+ sat/vB were cleared from the mempool this morning at 11 am. The network is now chewing through the 1-2 sat/vB band (and higher feerate transaction as they crop up). 616 blocks until difficulty adjustment. #mempoolreport

In before the next batch of consolidation transactions rolls in: only 22 blocks above the 1-2 sat/vB band. 馃槄

1/2 Maybe also the issue here is that we don't really know of better things to do right now. Pieter Wuille (a brilliant guy working on Bitcoin) wrote a long explanation of why we can't just adopt the current state of "on-chain privacy coin" tech yet at bitcoin.stackexchange.com/a/鈥
